Ultimate Suckiness

My poor dad.

First, he gets food poisoning Saturday night and is a near constant visitor of the bathroom all night long.

Then he passes out, my mom freaks out and calls 911.

No worries, he's fine...ish. Just a vasovagal response, not something the medical world worries too much about.

So he goes back to bed. Wakes up again, passes out again. My mom, as instructed by the paramedics, attempts to get him on the floor.

CRACK.

Yes, that was his right fibula bone breaking as my mom dragged him to the floor.

Happy Mother's Day indeed.

So all festivities for Sunday were canceled as my parents went to urgent care and got a temporary cast on his leg.

Yesterday my dad goes in to get a permanent cast at the orthopedics and is told he has to have surgery if he ever wants to play tennis or ski again.

Yippee!!

So this morning at 7:15, my dad had a plate and 6 screws inserted into his leg. He will be in a cast for the next six weeks and most assuredly will go crazy.

Anyone know how to keep a 61-year old man, who otherwise would be working outside, driving around and playing golf, occupied for the next month and half?

That is terrible! I'm sorry that happened. I am planning to get the dvd series 'Planet Earth' for my Dad for Father's Day. Maybe you could get that for him? It's really amazing.

Om.
Your dad.
I feel so sorry for Dale!
Sadness
You minimized your mom's role in breaking his ankle. Sadness for your mom indeed.
